Portor is the percussionist for both The Chico Bavarian Band and The Internationals™.
He provides the heartbeat of the band, and the group probably tends to take him for granted: They really should make a point of appreciating any drummer who can play in his sleep! (No kidding!)
You have to be dedicated to play drums in a band. Have you ever seen how much stuff they carry around? Setting it up and taking it down is almost as much work as playing it! We're all certain that, on some days, Portor wishes he had just learned piccolo!
But the amazing thing is -- and for the life of us, we just can't figure this out -- he drives a Mini Cooper!
In addition to his duties as percussionist extroardinaire, Portor also works with Steve McGinnis as the bookings agents for both bands.
